Then I got a cell phone but I swore I'd never use it.

Now we don't even have a land line and I have all the modern conveniences (and more) available on my phone.

We've had some really great times the past few weeks and I am realizing how long its been since I've logged in. I'll catch myself up eventually, but for now let's talk about coffee!

Jason's parents hid some mulaa in the house after their visit last week...sneaky!

Sold our old coffee maker for $15 on craigslist even though it stopped keeping our coffee warm - yes, I made sure the buyer was aware...

Found a coupon for 20% off...

Sent away for our $10 mail in rebate...

And that means FREE COFFEE (maker) and hot coffee for hours!

This morning I am enjoying a cup as I sit by the window on my Friday off :)

Derby Dames

Last Saturday night we drove out to Marina to watch the Beasts of Eden take on the Seabright Sirens in women's flat track roller derby.

The Beasts of Eden are an all star roller derby team,

the best of the Cannery Rollers and the Babes of Wrath.

It was awesome and I loved it!

I felt like I was in a movie.

Before the "bout" began they welcomed all the first time derby fans and ran a sample "jam" so that we would know what was going on. They explained the rules and demonstrated what is legal and what is illegal - but still fun to watch.

Here's a quick rundown on the rules:

I love that they played in an old wooden hockey facility off the beaten track.

I love listening to the crowd hollering for their hometown heroines.

I love that the tickets were cheap and every seat had a great view.

And I love that my mom was silently freaking out, fearing that I would decide to join this lovely sport.

No need to worry, Mama.

At least not for now :)
